The movie is an official remake of the 2017 Kannada movie Ondu Motteya Kathe, which means "A Story of an Egghead". The movie tells the story of Srinivasan, a balding Malayalam professor who is unable to find a suitable woman to marry. After a number of failed attempts, orchestrated by the marriage broker, Srinivasan decides to approach women directly with the help of his friend Rahim. However, he faces many rejections and humiliations due to his appearance and lack of confidence. He develops an interest in his colleague Babitha, but she falls for a handsome new professor who joins the college. He also meets Safiya, a Muslim woman who works for a company that sells hairpieces for bald men. However, he realizes that she is only interested in him as a potential customer. His family arranges a meeting with Chinnu, an obese woman who also faces difficulties in finding a partner. He wears a hairpiece to impress her, but it falls off during the meeting and he runs away in embarrassment. Chinnu meets him again to return his hairpiece and they end up spending some time together. They develop a friendship and she invites him to visit the biennale art festival in Kochi. They take a selfie together and post it on Facebook, which attracts many negative comments from their friends and colleagues. Srinivasan feels hurt and asks Chinnu to delete the picture. She refuses and asks him to accept himself as he is. He gets angry and breaks off contact with her. He later regrets his decision and tries to reconcile with her, but she has already moved on with another man who loves her for who she is.
